Keane focused on the Republic of Ireland, not Celtic

Roy Keane insisted he is only focused on the Republic of Ireland, despite speculation linking him with a return to club management with Celtic ahead of Euro 2016.

Celtic will part ways with Ronny Deila at the end of the season, and former midfielder Keane has emerged as a potential replacement.

Keane spent six months in Glasgow following his Manchester United departure in November 2005.

But the 44-year-old said he has not been approached by the Scottish champions and has no offers on the table.

The only time you think you might be interested in a job, or the only time you know, is if you re asked, Keane told ESPN s Beyond the Pitch podcast.

So this idea of speculation about other clubs there s always club jobs coming up.

Hertha Berlin 2 Bayern Munich 3 (AET): Coman heads Bayern into quarters

Kingsley Coman s extra-time winner spared Mats Hummels blushes and sent Bayern Munich into the DFB-Pokal quarter-finals courtesy of a 3-2 win over Hertha Berlin.

Niko Kovac s side, who were again missing the injured Manuel Neuer, had hit back following Maximilian Mittelstadt s third-minute opener, with Serge Gnabry scoring a brace.

However, substitute Davie Selke seized upon Hummels dreadful header back towards Neuer s deputy Sven Ulreich to force extra time.

And it was Coman, with his first goal since December, who won it by heading in from close range.

Lawrence leaves Leicester for Derby in reported £7m deal

Derby County have completed the signing of Tom Lawrence from Leicester City for a fee that could reportedly rise to £7million.

The 23-year-old has agreed a long-term contract with the Championship club and is their fourth signing of the transfer window, following the arrivals of Curtis Davies, Andre Wisdom and Tom Huddlestone.

Derby confirmed that he will not be available for Tuesday s clash with Preston North End but could make his debut away to Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

Manager Gary Rowett told RamsTV: Tom was our number-one target in that position and he had a fantastic season at Ipswich last year.

It has taken a lot of energy to get this transfer done and, to be honest, I don t think people realise how difficult these transfers are to do.

English managers are judged differently, claims Lampard

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard believes English managers are judged differently to their foreign counterparts and says more should be given the opportunity to lead Premier League clubs.

Lampard took over the reins at Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2019-20 season to become the first Englishman to permanently lead the club since Glenn Hoddle left in 1996.

He guided the club to a top-four finish in the Premier League in his maiden campaign but has overseen just two wins from Chelsea s opening six top-flight games so far this season, with Sunday s 0-0 draw with Manchester United leaving them in 10th.

That sluggish start has led to some people questioning whether Lampard is the right man for the job, but the 42-year-old is content with the progress Chelsea have mad…

A little fear can do us good – Sarri says Juventus slump can focus minds for Lyon

Maurizio Sarri believes a little fear can do us good after seeing Juventus prepare for their crucial Champions League tie against Lyon by losing 3-1 to Roma on the final weekend of the Serie A season.

Juve saw a 39-match unbeaten home league run dating back to April 2018 ended as Diego Perotti scored twice after setting up Nikola Kalinic to cancel out Gonzalo Higuain s opener at the Allianz Stadium.

The Bianconeri were crowned champions for the ninth straight season despite winning just two of their final eight league matches, with head coach Sarri conceding his team dropped mentally after beating Lazio on July 20.

Sarri acknowledges Juve face a tricky task against a Lyon side who won the first leg of their last-16 clash 1-0 before the coronavirus pandemic halted…

Synduality: Echo of Ada Gets Open Network Test from December 12th to 20th

As December rolls around and 2024 closes, Synduality: Echo of Ada will be one of the more notable releases to start the new year. It launches in January 2025, but Bandai Namco has confirmed an open network test from December 12th to 20th (22nd for those who pre-ordered).

A new old-school-style animation video is available, outlining the core gameplay loop. In classic extraction shooter fashion, however, dying means losing everything in your inventory and being left with nothing. Following betas from earlier this year, it should be inter…

Garde targeting Cup success

Remi Garde says the Coupe de France is Lyon s main target ahead of their quarter-final clash with Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.

The sides meet at the Parc des Princes in a rematch of the 2008 final, which saw Lyon claim the championship 1-0 in injury time.

Lyon were knocked out of the Champions League by APOEL earlier this month and are out of the running for the Ligue 1 title, trailing leaders PSG by 13 points, leaving the Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue as their only chances for silver ware this season.

The Cup is one of our main targets. The draw was not really kind to us as we will play against a very successful team, Garde said.

Paris at home have been in another league since the start of the season. The game will be very challenging but…
